i was at a relief kitchen outside new orleans in the beginning of april. i visited my dear wonderful friend juan and helped wash dishes & cook etc and broke my ankle on some rickety steps and went to see the shell of my grandparent's old house which was under about 10 ft of water i guess. i had a great time, but it is very depressing (& angering about pitiful government response) to see all the devastation there, miles and miles of rubble. ...more about my visit...
